I feel that Scott O’ Dell is an interesting author that I can use for the American Author project because I have read his books before and I have always enjoyed them. His books never bored me and I like the way he uses his writing with expression + vocabulary. When I read his writing I get a good sense of the context where I can picture it in my head.

Scott O’ Dell meets the criteria for the American Author project by he is an American and he doesn’t write poems; he writes mainly for children. He has written many books that I could chose from and some of his novels are long. I feel that my author is important because he stands as individual writer who tries to write stories about adventure and survival. I think he can teach us a lesson in our lives to succeed and become a better writer as a better learner as well.

I feel that Scott O’ Dell’s work will help me make a literary thesis argument over a ten page paper because he has so many topics to chose from and I feel confident in his work for me to write a really good paper that will help me become a better writer and student as well. I want to read the King’s fifth because it’s a book that I wouldn’t read but I want to try something new that I never read before. I’m not sure what other book titles I should read from him; I have to do more research on that but another book that I might consider is The Black Pearl. So far that’s the main book I want to read but I may change my mind so I’m not sure yet.
